We have a culture that is unique:
We teach professionally developed and internationally recognised syllabi in American Jazz and Tap, Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre for students (in most cases) from preschool to adult.
These are all top flight, exam-based syllabi which are externally moderated.
There are also non-exam classes for preschool dancers and in Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop dance. Adult classes have a non-exam option. Students can gain dance and teamwork skills, performance and competition experience, fitness & general health, emotional maturity and integrity, self-esteem, friendships, and highly regarded examination results.
We have highly trained, committed and caring teachers. Teacher training is done mainly in-house, and this is complemented by ongoing syllabus development and training in teaching methods at workshops run by experts from the professional dance organisations to which we belong.
We provide quality teaching which develops dance and artistic excellence while promoting self-esteem with a positive, healthy approach to life.
Classes are course-based, and students enrol and pay by the term, there are 4 terms per year. Private lessons are available and are often taken in the lead-up to exams.
Our facilities are near new, and custom designed, with the latest safety features. Our 4 dance studios have sprung floors (with rubber underlay), commercial air con, wall-length mirrors, a separate commercial ventilation system, double ballet barres in each studio, viewing rooms for parents, and free parking.
They provide us with a stable and healthy environment all year round.
Exams are usually held in August and September and are available in all our syllabi. We expect and encourage all students to take part, subject to having reached a suitable standard. They provide an incentive to do well, and an independent benchmark for evaluating individual students and the studio’s teaching. We are well known for our thorough preparation and excellent exam results.
Mock exams are held in the weeks prior to the actual exams and are compulsory for those sitting exams.
There are performance and competition opportunities during the year, plus an end-of-year costumed Show for all classes, in a professional theatre. It is the studio’s main focus when exams are over.
The Academy is the new high-performance division in the studio, for students aged 9 and over, who wish to take their dancing and performing arts to a new level. Entry is via successful audition. For further information please contact the studio.
All exam-based classes have uniforms, which are to be worn in class throughout the year. Please contact the studio for details.
This is my daughter’s first year at your studio. I must say the exams that she sat have been the most fun for her in all of the years she has done exams. It was great to see her enjoying dance again.”
